... and one brilliant thing about this route is that _most_ of it is on the Outdoor Leisure 21 (South Pennines) map. You just lose the Delph loop and the last leg (and possibly a bit around Slaithwaite, but that could be because just about everywhere is called _something_ Clough!).
I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but what is the "top" road from Mytholm (near Hebden Bridge) to Mereclough (a couple of miles East of Burnley) like? I think that is the one that goes past the wind-farm at Coal Clough - quite an impressive sight!
mb
p.s. See what i mean about all the Clough's!

Martin - if you mail Alex, he should be able to put up details on NW website 'Topscooby', and may be able to help with a map.
May also be worth checking with Paul about some of those roads as they could be some of the ones we discounted on the grounds they were too narrow for 30/40/50.... Subarus on a sunday morning!
One final comment regarding the route - maight be worth removing the full 'route plan' as it may attract a variety of unwanted attention on the day!! - thats why we have always only given the route out on the day!

please keep the route under wraps until the morning of the event - or risk having local constabulary attending or, worse still, as Gary says, the hooligan element may turn up... if max-power types show at the first rendezvous point an 'executive decision' can then be made whether or not to hand out the route to them (can't stop them following though) - we haven't had any trouble yet on NW meets but it is only a matter of time...
cheers,

Paul,
out of interest, why would we be worried about the boys in blue attending? Are there any legal problems with holding a meet? We are not going out to cause trouble, and should be trying to keep within the law.
I would be happy if the Police actually stopped and had a chat with us - unlike the miserable b*ggers at the last Northern meet, who just caused us to spend far too much time looking in our rear-view mirrors. Respect works both ways, and we could have understood one another's concerns - if only they had made contact!
Please e-mail me if the answers are not for general consumption,
Your's with butter not melting in his mouth,

Hi, I'm new to the bbs(I used to have a quick look on a friends PC!!)Count me in for the NW3.I've tried to go to the last two(first one girlfriend gets new carpets fitted, second one 17yr old girl decides to cause £3000 worth of damage to MY98!!!)
Just hit the 1000 mile mark in MY00 so after reading so much about the last two I'm looking to going(any carpet fitters or drivers who don't look both ways at junctions naff off!!!!)

Boomer,
A little something to lighten up on your woes.
If you were in the centre pack of about 13 scoobs lead by the lads from Manchester way (at the last meet)you would have seen the most funny of things when 3 scoobs turned round the corner at the cop shop in sowerby bridge to be met by (ladies excuse me!)one of the more gorgeous wpc's ever to wear uniform, who saw the first 3 cars ,then turn round as she heard the other 10 cars and with absolute timing lost complete control of her jaw as it hit the floor but failed to return to it's resting place.Talk about amazed ,i think she couldn't believe her eyes.
Now that is how we should see them.

Sadly my local WH Smiths is closed at the moment, and i have tried searching the archives, but i can't find out what the "Infamous 22B of the Clarkson Top Gear video" is all about.
Please tell?
mb
p.s. I'll be there n'all (at the meet, not Smiths!)
