Default West Yorkshire - WYIOC - New Home

After several weeks checking out a few suggestions, the WYIOC have now moved back to our 'Spritual' home location. With good roads leading in and some superb roads a mile or so away we have chosen 'The Foxglove' in Kirkburton.

The Foxglove - 36a Penistone Rd Kirkburton - HD8 0PQ - 01484 602101

Directions: Directly on the A629, Penistone Road, out of Huddersfield. For those who used to come to the Fenay Bridge, it's a mile or so South past that on the right...

This month's meet will be held here at 7:30 on Thursday 28th and we'd be pleased to welcome anyone wishing to come along...

Mini-Convoys from the Holmfield Arms (Wakefield) & The Brickworks (Drighlington) will be arranged for those needing help finding the place or just wanting a good drive in..

Meeting details will be published on the Venue thread in the WYIOC Events area.

Cheers!

I'm genuinely glad a decision has finally been made.

Just a shame it's a bit too far for us. Enjoy folks.

Paul, it's several miles north of Cubley, so should be easier?

Here's hoping that you can still make it regularly.. even if you get there slightly later.. Food is on until 10...

Paul, from my home The Foxglove is 19.3 miles if you use the M62 and go through Huddersfield. The TP is 17 miles; does an extra 2.3 miles really make too much difference The Darrington which Steff recommended comes in at 24.5 miles.
If you use the more fun J.39 route over Emley The Foxglove comes in at 28 miles, and the Holmfield run will be about 30 miles. It takes us about 20 minutes to get to the TP, and we can get to the Foxglove in 30, and enjoy the route which is the reason we looked into moving.

I really do hope you'll at least give it a go with us. I and the whole club would hate to lose any members through this move when its intentions were always for the good of the club.

Edited to add : just reran the route and chose "shortest" instead of my own prefered route, and it came back with 16.6 miles

Re-edited to add : ran it from your house to TP, 17.3 miles; yours to Foxglove 20.1 miles.

Craig. You may find the Holmfield Arms in Wakefield easier than the Brickworks?

Either way, we remember you and look forward to meeting up again..

If it was me, I apologise...

There are so many good/bad reactions when I'm on the road it's hard to distinquish if someone just wants to hear it full thrap or actually wants a race (which I ignore).

Best bet is to wave with a thumbs up - good code for "lets hear it"
