Actually, what exactly is the story she wants to do? I'd hate to be videoed as a Subaru enthusaist then portrayed on TV as a baby-eating speed maniac with no regard for human life. Or worse, as a boy racer

Ive been to 'Birkenhead cruise' tonight, and met up with the person from BBC that contacted us about Blackpool.

They are interested in the possibility of a Subaru meet, is anybody interested in a special meet up for the camera's.

We need to think pretty quickly, about this one .... but also a venue.

im certainly happy to co-ordinate again, looking for ideas and levels of interest.

Also, Birkenhead cruise have asked if any of us fancy a trip there one night.... any takers??? its a tuesday night event 8pm onward.

I'd be up for the telly thing (Andy Warhol once said something about 15 minutes...)
Any chance of getting a location that's a little further East (sorry for swearing ). Manchester perhaps?
What about times / dates. Would have thought a weekend would have been best for attendance / daylight, etc.

May be able to make Birkenhead cruise one night in the not too distant, but week nights are a pain 'cos I start work early most mornings

What was she doing up there?
I would be interested and would love to get my local website plugged on there too...
Could this be possible?
If so i can organise plenty of people from other cruise sites and get some more support down for us because im sure they would like to be involded in such an event.
The bigger it looks the better it will be for the TV i think...
What about Blackpool (Yeadon Way car park), the lights have now finished and there will be room for plenty of cars so space is not a problem!!
Let me know what you think Frank.

PS: When i last spoke to her i said that there are meets on all the time and if she wanted to sort something specific for TV coverage then that would be no problem at all...
Guess we may be able to meet up again sooner than we think!

Count me in too, Tuesday's are usually pretty quiet (though I'll have to tape 'Wife Swap'!).

As to venue, where was the Birkenhead cruise held ?
How about Cheshire Oaks ? Plenty of parking plus places to go for food and drink. Maybe a bit too far West ?
If you want something a bit further East, how about the Heywood/Pilsworth estate just off the M60/M66 near Middleton ?

We should invite her out of one of the smacs runs! I can strap the cameraman to the car, and hold the mike while she does the commentary!
See if she will put my camera footage on her report!
trackday

Can we meet somewhere in the country? It would be much better than standing round a boring car park, and we would get to drive our cars along country roads too!

Is there a BASHIR type hidden agenda here?

She will be all nice and friendly, then when the documentary is shown, it will portray us all to be sad, boyracer, MacDonald car park type anorachs.(Which we already know, we are!)

PS. Deal me out, my mates would shoot me on site if I appeared on a cruising documentary.

Still looking for possible venue's and suitable levels of interest...

One possibility, is Cheshire cruise @ Warrington. They meet on a monday evening, on private land. Their meet point is very close to motorway connections, M6/M62 and is reasonably central. Im sure we could get an area sectioned off specifically for us.

We could organise our own local meet point @ say 8.25pm and then do a short journey convoy stylee to the venue for 8.30pm.

I do work til 8pm on a monday evening, but im sure i can get out a few minutes early ;-)

Any thoughts??

There is no hidden agenda here,

the program i believe is called 'inside out', and theyre doing a documentary on performance motors, cruises etc.

i went to Birkenhead cruise on the wirral, on tuesday nite, and met up with the person from BBC.... and had a brief chat with her. I was also filmed chatting with the organisers and Bruce (B4RUC of here) ...with our bonnets up, and a bit of horsepower kicking out.... we gave scoobynet a mention.

The cheshirecruise site is very close to the B&Q warehouse, infact its opposite.... for those who dont know it, its under 5 mins from the M6, and 1 min from the M62. This would make quite a reasonable site to get our scoobs lined up.

Any body else any ideas, or interested in this.??? If we chose this, we would need to be there for about an 'hour n half'

'Blackpool lads' .... Is the fair still on???

There is a carpark, of the road through the centre of the fair, we could try and get that for an evening.

Any info??

knackers to that! Unless of course a cunning plan is devised so that they end up getting nothing of any substance that could be helpful to them if they`re looking to make us look bad.

Does that make sense?????? read it 3 times and still not sure

I think we just need to know what the angle is, i.e. showing car enthusiasts in a positive light (excellent, very happy with that) or more like the 200mph on the M25 story (I could tell her about my 140 near the M56, on a private road of course).

Probably better to arrange our own meet rather than hook up with an exisitng "cruise" otherwise any muppety behaviour will reflect badly.
