That's not really the issue thiough is it? The issue is why the DM and other media outlets make such a song and dance about things like this? It's a couple of people out of a population of 65 million who have gone to Syria and got into trouble.
Yet the DM are reporting it as outrage as part of their 'Demonising Muslims' seaosn (that seems to be oevr a decade lomg and counting) so people like the OP can be outraged and post about it on forums like this and spread the word so as to speak.
Working a treat for them so far sadly
Meanwhile more imprtant issues affecting the country go virtually unchecked
