Default Is Prince 2 worth doing?

I got this email from groupon:-

http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/readi...s-101-34927564

Reading into it, you'd need to pay an additional cost for the manual, exam, certificate but is it worth doing and not one of those "dead and buried" qualifications?

If that's your field - project management, then why not do a course. I would say that the cheapness of this is a major worry (you get what you pay for I find, I used to sell these courses) and the fact that is online means it is not the greatest way to learn and then put it into practice.

You'd be looking at a few hundred quid at least for anything that will actually benefit you.

Prince2 is still recognised, I find that SureStep is becoming much more popular.

What we do is use SureStep with Prince2 stage gates at key points.

Yes, if you are a PM you should have it on your CV.

In fairness, if you're involved in any IT projects from a consultancy role, you would benefit from this training - and its very cheap too

work run this course with external trainer at £850 each including exam and course books

be warned everyone at work that have done this say you need lots of studying up front before you even go to a class so have a look at a course book before you sign up

Quite a few years since I did mine but it was certainly worth it imho. Lots of pre-study and up-front work before the course but if this is part of your role/ career then it's very straight forwards.

Prince2 or PMP is not uncommon as a requirement for roles still. I'll re-echo, the more relevant the course is to your role the easier you will find it.

I took my as classroom-based as for me, that approach works better than self-learn - Each to their own.
