Default Inland revenue tax question/debate

Maybe someone on here will work for the Inland revenue or someone can give my some more information on where our money goes to?

Like a lot of us I am absolutely fed up of paying large amounts of tax every month and then reading in the news papers "tax payers fund this, tax payers fund that"

I do have a few pet hates, I don't know how many things I would be able to state without offending people, not that it would be my intention to.

A few things I have read in the papers over the past few weeks...

Tax payer funds single mum with 11 kids and she can't live off £2500 per month benefits

Migrants are allowed to claim for children back home in their country funded by tax payer

£67,000 in legal aid paid by tax payer to Tia sharps killer.

Do we actually get a say on where our money goes or do we all just pay it because we have to?

If I phoned up the inland revenue would they be able to tell me where every penny of my money goes to? Should we have a right to know? And if they can't tell you can this be classed as theft?

On average over the last 10 years I have possibly paid £70,000 in tax, it makes me sick to think where it has gone to!

As well as the questions above, has anyone else got any pet hates about where your money goes to? How would you spend it?

No racist comments please, and a good debate is welcome.

Money goes to HM Treasury.

All complaints should be addressed your MP.

Or write to my mate who works for The District Attorney. Seriously the amount of letters he gets about the state of the country is laughable. Just address your letter to "The queen, London" and it'll probably end up on his desk

They just resurfaced the council offices staff car park. Whilst the roads are riddled with pothole so bad that 3 of the 4 wheels on our BMW are bent and 2 on my Golf. This is the same council that increased rates, reduced bin collections, Hacks their trees and chops them down for no reason and prevents me from pruning my own trees....by employing someone at my expense to stop me.

I could go on and on with a whole list of stuff but I'll just get more angry and start hitting the keys on the keyboard too hard

I'm glad its not just the English who think its a drain on thr enconomy.

That said on the same lines I'd like to cut the overall number of politicians and associated staff by half. And look towards decentralising London politics.

You're wasting your time. The way our money is wasted, sorry I mean spent, is decided by the government and local authorities. The government and the local authorities are on the whole made up of wasteful red tape jobsworths and lying greedy *****.

Every 5 years we can change the government swapping one set of lying greedy ***** for another thereby giving them the excuse to tell us it is us who choose how the money is spent despite the fact they all say they are going to do one thing and do another!

You can either get mad about it or say **** it and try and ignore it.

Finally don't believe eveything (or in the case of the Daily Mail anything) you read in the papers, they are another set of lying pondlife trying to manipulate and control you!

I agree with most of that!

The self employed bit is OK as long as we can get to go on TV and whine about a lack of a pay rise like the idiot woman that was on yesterday from the emergency service civilian workers saying she should have a 6% pay rise.

I am glad I am not the only one on here who thinks the way I do...

Chip I agree to everything you have said there

I am not a big fan of being on the EU either or sending aid abroad when we have our own problems in the UK.

A question I often ask people who thinks it's good sending millions of pounds in aid abroad every year... Would you feed and clothe your neighbours child before your own? No you wouldn't, I think some people are extremely nieve to problems that exist in the UK.

Would it not be wiser for example to educate people in contraception in 3rd world countries than looking after generation after generation of children who have very little chance of survival to the age of 5?

I am going to start pestering my local mp too about things that are going on, I think he should work a bit harder for his money

Has anyone heard of Britain first? It's a non racist group, non bnp and non EDL.

I have read up a bit on them and they are a group that want to try and bring britain back to it used to be, I quite like the sound of them.

Earning money is easy, keeping hold of it is the hard part...

Ignoring the fact seveal of there top members are all ex BNP

Just had a quick looks on there website and it's the usual right wing stuff with quite a heavy pro Christian anti Muslim bias. The anti abortion bit was an argument I haven't seen in a while. None the less an entertaining read.

You cannot find out where your tax goes as there is no hypothecated taxation in the UK AFAIK....

Might be best to read who pays the most tax in the UK and see if they are getting their money's worth...........sorry it's from the Daily Fail .

Chip you are such an archetypical Daily Mail type. Let me guess, middle aged, white, male, owning a building firm and have a couple of BTL's? Working class lad done good. Probably have a conservatory on your house which you probably bought in the 80's? Have a photo of Thatcher on the wall?

Since the second world war, the governments and local authorities (of all political persuasions) have practically bankrupted this country, squandering hundreds of billions of pounds enacting their own political ideologies and reversing those of their predecessors

I believe every public sector employee of middle management level upwards, right up to Prime Minister level, should be held criminally accountable for any action they take. Maybe then they will stop and think about exactly whose money it is that they are throwing around with such reckless abandon
