Got your Xmas lights up yet ?

I'm going to start my decs from tomorrow. Only my Christmas tree and some random lights here and there.

I thought it's 12 days before and 12 days after? That's what I usually do, but most people I know have already decorated their houses. Some people who I don't know also have propped up inflated Santa etc. all lit up in their gardens. I need to get cracking, man.

^ What I mean is that one should put the lights up 12 days before Christmas and take them off 12 days after Christmas. That's what I've been taught by English people. I may be wrong.

I have just been told by my clever bossy boots daughter that there are 12 days of Christmas but the first one starts Christmas Day which is why we pull the decorations down on Jan 6th

For me, it means longer time with my dazzling Christmas tree in my living room. It also means that my kittys could go ballistic for longer at them dangling bobble thingies.
Problem is, once the decorations are down, it looks so empty and bare! I wish we could keep our Christmas trees lit up all winter long! No one stops me, so I may do it one year. But I'm told that one shouldn't do that. Dog is for life, but Christmas tree is only for the Christmas season.

Lego Tower Bridge, Swati.
You and the bairns, Zoe's a big kid , really like Christmas don't you Chris.
Just another day in my book, I don't have to go to work on it which is a bonus.

I knowwww! I did say it was a bridge, not a bus station, Micky.
Even if you did it for yourself, I wouldn't worry. We already know that you're also a big kid.
Honestly, good lights. : thumb:

I had to put some **** up on Saturday whilst the Mrs went to Lincoln market. However, my 7 year old made my day,
"Mummy, daddy has put up the decorations like you asked him to, so you have to do something for him now"
Good lad

Got the tree on the 2nd and stuck it up - not very tall (say 6ft) but very fat! I had to bash it into the boot of the BM and dragged it out using violence. Looks nice though.
Only other decoration is a wreath on the door - we don't do big lights!
