Got your Xmas lights up yet ?
This year the good lady wife and I decided to cut down on the amount of lights we would put up. Maybe a 40% reduction :) ;)
So everyone else put theirs up yet ? |
Well its not xmas yet so no I haven't put them up yet

Ours are going up this weekend. IF I get the tree out of the loft :D

I thought there were 12 days of Christmas and 6 of them are after. Houses round here have been decked out like fairies for the last week.
|
I thought it's 12 days before and 12 days after? That's what I usually do, but most people I know have already decorated their houses. Some people who I don't know also have propped up inflated Santa etc. all lit up in their gardens. I need to get cracking, man.

^ What I mean is that one should put the lights up 12 days before Christmas and take them off 12 days after Christmas. That's what I've been taught by English people. I may be wrong.
Which means even more beer :) |

It's more likely to be me :thumb: but then there would be 24 days of Christmas.
Which means even more beer :) :D For me, it means longer time with my dazzling Christmas tree in my living room. It also means that my kittys could go ballistic for longer at them dangling bobble thingies. Problem is, once the decorations are down, it looks so empty and bare! I wish we could keep our Christmas trees lit up all winter long! No one stops me, so I may do it one year. But I'm told that one shouldn't do that. Dog is for life, but Christmas tree is only for the Christmas season. |

I have just been told by my clever bossy boots daughter that there are 12 days of Christmas but the first one starts Christmas Day which is why we pull the decorations down on Jan 6th :)

:) I do that every September in order to conquer bleak and dismal winter. I plan to replace them back to 60w in April. But then I forget. |

I had to put some **** up on Saturday whilst the Mrs went to Lincoln market. However, my 7 year old made my day,
"Mummy, daddy has put up the decorations like you asked him to, so you have to do something for him now" Good lad :) |
Got the tree on the 2nd and stuck it up - not very tall (say 6ft) but very fat! I had to bash it into the boot of the BM and dragged it out using violence. Looks nice though.
Only other decoration is a wreath on the door - we don't do big lights! |
Lights and tree went up on the 1st :) Lol the new tree her indoors insisted on
last year , as she reckoned the old one was too big went up for the first time Guess what ..... Turns out its even bigger than the one it replaced lol :notworthy:notworthy mart :D |
:lol::lol:
