Driver charged with Murder too!! Suggests there is more to this one!

Sad loss of life, whatever the background circumstances.

Not just death by dangerous driving.

Just another example of this countries moral decline, it's a cesspit.

I blame corrupt politicians!

I'm off to Australia right this minute (or in about ten years time)

Who knows what they were doing on the streets at that time of the morning. They could have met up to burn the midnight oil to study together or was it a walk back from a party, or was it a window jumping situation for some romantic venture? Or, were the kids chased out of a house by that maniac driver? Whatever the reason was, it's terribly unfortunate that two set of parents lost their children. May God give the parents the strength to cope with the tragic losses.

Well we are just recovering from a party we allowed our eldest, Honey (16) to have

It was in our garden, we erected two Marques/Gazebos and had a fire pit etc etc, sound system, the works

80 plus 16/17 year olds, oh my funking god - my wife and I knew, all too well what we were letting ourselves in for , but jeezus h Christ am I glad it is over

It took a week to organise/set up and 3 days to tear down

The 16 year old girls looked like **** stars - unbelievable, but the good news was we found 4 condom wrappers in our garden

Well, I wanted to hire portaloos, was over ruled by my daughter (and wife)

Fine, but my wife had to clear up the mess in the downstairs toilet the following day- the girls were so drunk they were pissing themselves

Our front room became an infirmary with comatosed girls everywhere

Carnage, but they all seemed to enjoy themselves and no one got got hurt

So in th end all good, and nice to see they are using contraception

well tbh it is a good point

not sure is my honest answer (although I always look on the positive in life, and this has never really let me down - if you think the worst you would never DO anything in life)

we did all that we could, we had 4 adults (1 medically qualified) on patrol at all times, we had informed the police etc, and were ready to drive to A&E if required – but in truth I am not there to parent other people’s children, they will do what they will do!! – whether in my garden or not – and that is a unavoidable truth

and ultimately we trusted our daughter, and by implication her friends (she goes the top the 6th form college in the country, so these were not Scouse neanderthals)

Thing is, kids of the UK are generally quite fast forward. Their sexual maturity is quicker, and their sense of independence starts to raise it's head when they hit 12. I hear that it was worse in 50's, 60's and 70's with all that sex, drugs and rock-n'-roll hero worship.

However, what I don't understand how the act of getting p!ssed, losing one's mind and making a tool of oneself, and waking up with minging hangover/headache is so glorified in the UK that it is the most popular form of fun? This applies for under 18's and over 18's alike. I just don't get it. Personally, I believe that it is a form of self-harm.

I'm surprised F1 Fan didn't have anything to say about this

Why does the fact they come from a reasonable background with seemingly caring parents make them 'spoilt little rich girls'?

Is that all part of being a responsible parent? Has your daughter really got 80 friends that she wants to invite to her house with what seems an open invitation to booze away and pee all over the loo and with some sex available. It is up you to set some standards of acceptable behaviour and simply not allow this sort of thing to occur in your own home. dl - father of 2 kids who had some fantastic parties but no way would I have let them invite 80 people along for the ride.

The 2 girls were killed outside one the the girls houses. They were having a girls night in with friends and mother. I suppose the reason for the girls going outside the house will be an important part of the police investigation. They were not just out roaming the streets in the early hours according to the local paper.

I must say that I agree.
A friend of mine (of educated background) told me he had a party for his 17 year old and friends, where everyone basically got sh1tfaced. Young ladies wearing next to nothing cracking out the bottles of vodka as soon as they arrived and so on.
One of them threw up one the bonnet of their parents car when they were being picked up - which he found quite amusing.
My thought was WTF do you think you are doing?
Can you really blame the youngsters for thinking that this is acceptable?
Mind you, at least he had the common sense not to put this and a load of other personal details about his children on the internet (I think).

How do you come to the conclusion that attendees of the party were encouraged to get plastered? Sounds to me like Hodgy and his helpers were being very responsible in having 4 adults on duty, including a medic.

If you live on the South Coast and someone goes "oh yeah this occurred in Gosport............"

Putting it tactfully, Gsoport has a certain local reputation..............

That's not just a South Coast thing, there are certain towns whose reputations are more than 'local'

Moral decline???

My nieces are far more responsible than I was as a kid, and work and study much harder.

There is a very small minority who always get highlighted, but in general I find most young people thoroughly decent people.
