But don't worry,
you don't need winter tyres in Britain as it never snow or gets cold enough.

I don't care about tyres, but this is not good.
Thanks for informing, though. I now know that snow could be bringing the life to standstill in November. Not looking forward to it, but I must keep positive, and of course, keep enough milk and eggs in the fridge this time.

Actually, the sky has looked dismal here all day, as if it has a pre-Snowing tension before the snow starts falling. Even my kitties are reluctant to venture out today, they're so loathing it.

Isn't this forecasted every winter though?
Probably more to cover peoples ***** than actually knowing there is actually a bad one coming though, so if we do get a bad one they can turn around and say 'we told you so'

it will be so bad that an expert stated 'I would not be surprised if some records are not broken this year'
double negative comment, meaning 'I would be suprised if records are broken'
they have to say it's going to be terrible, if it snows a bit they can say 'told you so'
not many will be prepared and loads will get stuck in snow
i had winter tryes on my work van and never got stuck and never had a day off

I got linked here from the mumsnet green beaker thread. Got linked there from a global warming thread. 6 degrees of separation or what?
p.s. - Hi TH. Hope you are good

Well....I've been reading mumsnet, so it is probably not where I was planning to be when I was making career choices
Lisa - you used to give me endless grief when I was technically correct but PC wrong. Have you realised that I was always right yet? xx

A what??? I haven't a clue about any beaker or mumsnet, FB! It's really tempting to banter with you but I better sleep now, and put my iPhone to sleep as well.
Keep posting here, FB. Another oldtimer Spoon also posts here sometimes, which is good.
Night night, and sleep tight.

hope it doesn't mess up my plans to germany late november, but these weather predictions are always bullshît , they can't predict whats going to happened in a few days correctly never mind a month ahead

Thanks, just done it, Ali. Couldn't find any link to the thread, but Huffington Post articles give a snapshot of it. They inform that the beaker thread attracted so many people posting there that the site crashed!
It must have been Fast Bloke who started that thread. Now we know where he has spent his last 5 years. Huffington Post says that Mumsnet has had most bizarre threads over last 5 years that went viral. Now we know why.

Yes, DJ Dunk is still here. I think he's one of the mods with his vape sabre on the glow.
Dr. Dingdongler and Dr. Banks as well as Midlife.... still post.
There are a few posties from old times knocking about, if not all.

As a matter of fact, I joined in 2001 after I got my scoob in end 2000. Something happened one day along the line when stats got all fcuked up. So, I'm actually 2 years older than I look. I know women don't talk as honest as that, but I'm an exception.
