Great UK Holiday ??

Anywhere around Bristol/Bath/Cheddar is great (beaches/caves/Longleat!). But also around Fort William in Scotland! Turn left and there are some great beaches (white coral sand - I kid you not!), go north and try and find the Loch Ness monster, Calvin (our 5 year old) drove the 22B around the Highland Safari Park - scweet!
Inverness is another great base.
Chuck
(Plus the old man gets to drive some of the finest roads in the UK)

Ro are you taking the scoob?
Just been on two UK holidays of late, lake district not nice in the south (windemere) but nice in the north.
Just got back from Cornmall which was very nice as well.
both areas have some good roads (i prefered the lakes) but for things for kids to do? I guess Surrey is as good a place to stay and go for days out. Cornmall/Deven all have nice beeches etc.

We went to falmouth last summer and saw Heligan and the Eden Project. If you're into plants at all, you must go and see these (and even if you're not, the latter is superb too).
The isle of Skye is fantastic, too, if you want to get away from it all.

Wales - yeah . Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
Pembrokeshire - great beaches, loads for the kids to do.
Ceredigion also has some good beaches, and some excellent grin factor roads within easy reach (try the mountain road from Cwmystwyth to Rhayader).

Swanage.
There's Studland Bay for the best beach in the country. Fish and chips, crabbing. There's loads to do if it's wet with Poole and Bournemouth just down the road. There's Monkey World which the kids just love, Corfe Castle... and so on and so on. My Mum and Dad take my kids there now most years for a long weekend and the kids love it. They started going age 4 and 5.
