Veils in public
a judge has ruled that a Muslim woman must remove her veil to give evidecne at her trial, and she is crying human rights and religious freedom.
Surely it's just a case of treating everyone fairly, not persecuting Muslims?
I'm sure I wouldn't be able to wear a motorbike helmet in court, why should a veil be any different?
Geezer

Seeing someone's face when they are talking is imperative if the sincerity of what they are saying is in question.
I doubt you could wear your helmet in their courts either.

In a courtroom situation I imagine it's pretty fundamental to the effectiveness of the jury if they can see the face/body language of people giving evidence.
Do we know what's she's on trial for?

Possibly going to get slated for this but its our country, our rules, if don't like it then bye bye.
And I'm all for veils been banned in schools as well.

Interesting how these women trumpet the viel in the name of freedom yet one reason for the covering up is to protest against western decadence and you guessed it...freedom.

Why is it these veiled women have amazing eyes quite regularly.
She'll no doubt win her appeal, or get multiple damages awarded by the European Union. Cos we can only roll over and say sorry in good old blighty.
Can you imagine this happening across the channel

Do you English folk ever stop moaning?
A bunch of offended blokes bitching about women... oh the irony.
Here's another one to make you buggers winge...
http://www.independent.co.uk/student...y-8814502.html
And here's another nobody setting out to make a name for himself
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...ic-places.html
Now get me wrong all you like. I would never allow my wife to wear a veil. Well, if she did i could't do bugger all about it other than shadow her everywhere so when some chav decided to assault her for it i can bum him hard and slow. Anyway the point i'm getting at is that where as i'm not keen on the veil itself i would like to tell all those that are against that there is bugger all they can do about it so stop wingeing and leave the bloody women alone.
I suppose someones going to come out with the whole nationalistic bollox. Well screw you too pal, you can jump up and down with a pissed up group of chavs shouting 'ban the burka' whilst you wear a cotton version over your face whilst claiming to be defending Ingerland. You still won't change bugger all either so fark off.
Oh and i've often wondered. To you ****** who can't have a conversation without facial expressions how the doodaa do you ever manage to use the phone?

Plus all this 'chooses which country to live in'.
Well, perhaps this is HER country of origin.
Also to add...... and another reason why i think **** of many people.
We all break the rules. Hands up if you have ever done speeding.... well **** off to Afghanistan if you can't obey the laws (speed limit) of this country.

I've been in this country since birth and i have never managed to get into any trouble with the law. So what ****ing rules are these that i fail to abide by?
Seriously, do you even know what you are talking about? You don't do ya bud. You are just regurgitating the same old **** the rest of your clan come out with.
