Default Another cr@p dealer.......

My youngest recently bought a Renault Megane F1 R26.
They told him the tyres on the front needed replacing, and he mentioned the aircon needed attention.

They put two new tyres on and re-gassed the aircon...which worked for about 5 days.

He works a continental shift rota, so today I took it to a decent tyre place who are doing a deal on re-gassing. There were only 3g of gas in it!!!!!!

they put in 550g, and it now blows stone cold.

Meanwhile, I mention it was pulling to the left, so they check the tracking, which is out, and also BOTH clips on the trackrod boots left loose, and the new tyres turn out to be RETREADS....on the FRONT tyres of a fwd 230 bhp car!!!!! How stupid is that?

Needless to say we are searching for a deal on four new ones.

That's shocking. Would never consider putting retreads on anything let alone a performance car and the fact they didn't tell him is very bad (though out of interest were they billed as being much cheaper than from anywhere else?).

As for the air-con, just hope it isn't leaking as my wife's car went from a re-gas to empty fairly quickly as it turns out the compressor is leaking.

We'll see if it is, it's covered by the warranty if it is.
