Many years ago, 'Bike' magazine ran a monthly caption competition in which you could win a year's subscription to the mag.

One month, the photo was of some elderly ladies looking at a 'Stimson Scorcher' (a dreadful three wheeled kit car/bike monstrosity). The winning entry was one of them saying to her friend 'Ugh, someone's shat in the street'.

Looks like they 'lost the run of themselves' (good old Mrs Doyle) again.

20k, more like pence for 20k he would have finished it unless his semi retired mechanic was expensive;-)

Looks like something Clarkson would build on Top Gear. I bet it shifts though, must be light weight compared to a normal WRX.

Oh yes, for about 10 seconds until something falls off / breaks.

It needs shooting TBH.

Whats even more worrying is they have had 3 offers for that pile of scrap, must be mickey takers offering £1, £1.50 and £1.75 for it.

For £20k he could have got a 22b, i'm sure he thinks he's made the right choice tho with his £20k.

Funny you should post a VW link above, as it seems that he's trying very hard to build a VW Trekker look-a-like - he'd have been better buying a proper VW Trekker and putting the subaru engine in that! (easy)

And saved himself £18k to boot - a nice VW Trekker here for £2k!!...... (if there is such a thing;0)

As for the monstrosity above, some people have way too much time and money, words really do fail me, worst part about it is he thinks it's worth £7k, he would have to pay me that to take it.

Clarkson couldn't build anything to such an impressive standard.

Don't think I will bother anyway!

"starts and drives but needs finishing" on adverts for these sorts of home built cars....kits, pickup conversions, roof chops etc, generally translates as "I have just realised that it will never, ever pass the IVA test to get registered, so rather than spunk more money over it, I am trying to flog it to someone ignorant of the rules."

I put £10 in as an offer. I could do with a few spares for my Impreza. A tenner for that lot is a bargain.
