History and art are interesting choices for one who can do Maths? Is there a planned university course with these in mind? Many schools can get you maths A level in lower sixth too, not worth dossing about if she is brainy.

Yes, an eclectic choice,
well she is very good at maths and enjoys it too (which is helpful)
But also strong on languages A*s in Spanish and German
History is a bit left field, and Art is a passion too, really hard work to get an A* in Art - her exam work was simply stunning
But Essentially John, they are facilitator subjects required for Oxbridge and the tier one uni's (Russell Group)
I suspect a languages/maths degree
The scarey thing is she is the least academic of my 5

Yes but that is all because you are part of the bourgeois elite. You, and your children have benefited from the state sponsored protection of the banks and house prices. As a result you pat yourself on the back for your middle class aspirational goals but these have only been achieved by sucking money like a vampire from the poor. (the bedroom tax for example)
Oxbridge is elitist and the only reason anybody would want to go there is to make themselves feel superior to somebody else who has got exactly the same degree.
Well this was TDW thread after all
Seriously though, congratulations. You must be very proud, I know I would be

So only science subjects are really worthy then John. That's a bit chauvanistic.

What else do you expect from a bourgeois elitist doctor who belongs to a tax funded monopolised guild??
I wonder if he realises that his BMA subscriptions have forced up healthcare costs for all of us?
