2011 riots - another great example of talking lots, but doing nothing
Government 'failed to act' over Manchester and Salford riots
Do they ever actually DO anything they say they will??
I don't think I have ever lived in a time where the governemnt says so much yet does so little. It's getting embarrassing.
Don't get me wrong many of these recommendations may have been nonsense, but it is the fact that they set up this whole panel/review to be seen to be doing the right thing (spending more taxpayers' money on it I might add) and then actually do very little as a result of it.
It's a pattern we are seeing over and over again!
The government's response to those recommendations, published in July, showed that of the 63, only 11 had been accepted, with 35 being rejected or not implemented, four remaining under review and the fate of 13 being not known.
Mr Lloyd said it was "completely unacceptable" that the panel's recommendations had not been acted on.
He said: "It is an insult to the people who suffered at the hands of mindless thugs two summers ago.
"When the panel was set up, Nick Clegg said it was an opportunity for victims to be heard, but what is the point of the panel spending six months visiting cities affected by the riots if the government then fails to act on the recommendations?"

David Cameron said we should all 'boycott' that Ask.FM website, this in it's self is clearly doing something.
Hold on?
Well actually it's not, it's asking us to do something..
