It is funny, & the people at the parade obviously thought it was funny when they voted it 3rd best float, but there are people out there, the Mary Whitehouses of the world, who want to censor everything, & control what we are allowed to find funny, & not find funny.

The sad thing is that, despite the fact that these people are in the minority, the amount of influence that they have over the majority is out of proportion.

Most jokes are tabo or un-pc, that's generally what makes them funny. Just because you tell a black joke does not make you racist or support racism. Just because you tell a gay joke doesn't mean you're homophobic. It's all part of the great British humour, or at least it was.
And before you over righteous soap box standing monotone humourless gimps start. That's not forget Jimmy Saville had never been convicted in a court of law. As it stands it's only allegations, and from what i've seen made by some very dubious accusers.
Had any of the alleged abused complained i would take it more seriously. But from what i see its just the normal do-gooders complaining in some pre-emptive way just in-case. Bit like the White Christian councillors wanting to re-name Christmas to winterfest. Just in-case a muslim took offence.
