Fairly common too - a quick and dirty lash up to squeeze it through another MOT with as little outlay as possible to give it another year before it ends up in a crusher.

People used to ask me to do this sort of thing occasionally - just lash a patch over the top of the rust for the cheapest possible repair to minimum MOT standard so they could keep motoring for another year.

Some people have no pride in their motoring. I guess half the people simply see it as a basic form of transport from getting A to B and want to spend less than the bare minimum. It's almost a shame how some people have no pride in what they own and couldn't give a t0ss.

This depends if you define yourself by what car you drive

Believe it or not some people don't, and it is essentially a mobile heater with a radio to get them from A to B

I know some quite wealthy people who own very shabby cars but live in amazing homes and have quite nice yachts too
