I hope Pete is ok, not heard from him in a few days?!
The TV says that over 75's are especially vulnerable.
I always found it odd how in the UK we put AC in our cars but not homes.

It's the same as the snow plough argument. You probably only need it for 2 weeks every 5 years.

36 when we were in the Ardeche. I failed to spot scores of pensioners keeling over. Just lots of smiley people having fun.
We've swum in the sea almost every day since we got back from our holiday without wetsuits.

I was in Indonesia 3 weeks ago, it was 33/34 every day.... the population seemed to manage just fine with out f**king heatwave alerts
The thing with hot weather is you kind of know it's hot by going outside and feeling it, you don't need some **** in the Met Office to tell you that!

That's what ticks me off,we go months with rain and bad weather in this country, this is the first good summer weather in a while, and still I get people saying to me it's too hot.
I'm saying just enjoy it while it lasts,it's great seeing the women about it next to nothing clothing
And to be able to sit outside have a beer and a chat.you just can't please some people,British are weird lot at times...

Even on the news tonight they had an interview at a Reservoir asking people to be sensible.
Christ, not even 2 weeks of Sunshine, and already they talking about water levels. Everything should be almost bursting with water, given the amount of rain we've had.

As a kid, this weather was the norm, not the exception as far as i remember. Most summers were like this and, more or less, guaranteed. Having said that, i have asthma and copd , so it does tend to get uncomfortable at times

I'm in Jordan (the country) at the mo. it reaches about 40 during the day and I'm outside working in it. The uk needs to get a grip. I'm hearing all sorts of stories about how the uk is slowly grinding to a halt because its a little hotter than it normally is. Pathetic.
Secondly, spare a thought for the lads and lasses in Afghan at the mo. the temp reached 55 today. Most of them will be working outside.
