Did anyone go to this? Was a fantastic event. Posted some pics in the Photography section but that seems rarely visited.....

I went on Sunday. Whilst it was okay, its not a shade on the airshows I remember from my youth (Finningley), but I wanted to take my youngest son whilst he's still got the chance to see various things fly. The way things are going, the RAF will only have one type of aircraft left. It's a bit of a shame they couldn't put the VC10 in the air either, rather than have it on static, as come next year, it won't be flying anymore.
On a rather more comical note, you'll recall when the Red Arrows entered stage left in formation with the Sentinel. The bloke on the table next to me said.....
Is that Concorde.
I mean FFS. He should have been removed from the grounds for being so stupid

Ahh Finningley
RAAF F111 going into re-heat over the crowd (or so it appeared!) melting everyone's ice-cream.........
A Lightning coming down the crowd line, 100ft doing 600 knots, going into a vertical climb, glinting in the sunlight as it slowly rotates, until it tops out at 30,000ft in a clear blue sky -- Unforgettable

Great pictures, funnily enough the Hawker Hunter you have pictured there is my friends, I was lucky enough to go up in it a couple of weeks ago as a 30th birthday treat. INCREDIBLE, the pilot is also a completely decent chap.
My perspective on reality was altered after experiencing part of a show routine, these fast Jet pilots are really tough.

Used to get passes when the g/f's Dad and brother were stationed at Waddington. They've both left now, which is a shame.
I did have to step outside this morning when I heard a fast moving jet heading towards Trent Bridge for the Ashes flyby.
