Default Child Genius

Anyone been watching this? I think Hugo is hilarious as he retains the child-like qualities as well as having a high IQ. His parents seem to see the funny side and not be too pushy.
There was a funny clip tonight where he was told of a man who could remember the shuffled order of several decks of cards to which Hugo replied "I bet he hasn't got a girlfriend".

Yeah he's funny now , but in a few years I imagine he will get beat up a lot with his cocky attitude.

Notice how all the kids are really good at things , but there is just something not right with them ?

It's all a bit weird. It reminds me of those parents who dress up their young daughters to do beauty pageants. Just let the poor buggers have normal lives. Mind you, truly gifted children are wired up differently, so perhaps this is their way in to the world. I started watching but had to turn it off - something not right about a lot of what was happening.

My elder brother was part of the gifted children program in the 70's

He had a very particular "gift", in all other respects he is a bit of a plonker, and a bit thick too

I would imagine that once they are older most will lack common sense and would struggle with some day-to-day challenges if left to fend for themselves.

I also heard that, plus I didn't think he was terribly smart, let alone a genius - seemed to be guessing most of the time.
The ticket question - FFS come on, that's basic maths, to which he got some ridiculous answer, then he changed his mind to an even more ludicrous one.

Fair play to the kid who remembered the exact order of a full deck of playing cards.
