Won a race
Only a local running race but after my little boy won his pre school run, me and the missus did the 3.5 mile "fun" run with about 270ft of ascent. Both of us don't really do road running so pacing is really tricky (we run coast paths most of the time). Managed to win it in 20m46s and finally got an official sub 6m/mile average (5m56s). After spending last year doing no races due to a completely wrecked immune system, it felt good! The missus was 14th out of 60. Not bad either. I then won a keg of ale (Doom Bar) in the raffle!
Comedy wind out of sails moment afterwards; two teens were asking who won. Their mate said "some old bald guy" doh!!!

I trod on a nail (went right through the back of a flip flop fairly deep into my heel) the day before which wasn't ideal.
A run after a ride is keen (I'd surfed for an hour yesterday morning but that's not all that knackering); are you tri training?

Hodgy; I'd love to do one. I checked what my time would have been for 5k (well I tried anyway) and think its just under 18.5 mins. So 18 to beat...
DPB; I know a few very fit oldies. Amazing how they do it. Won my first tri, feet back down to Earth for the second 19th/200), injured after the swim on the third so hobbled in at 47th out of 200ish; straight into an ambulance, a load of stitches in my sliced open foot. Will try again this year but carefully!
