Default Ebay buyer left me positive feedback and then opened a case

How can they open a case saying the item hasn't arrived when they've already left me positive feedback?

What will Ebay do about that one?

They might take it into consideration. The buyer will have to explain why they left positive feedback then started a not received case. When you have multiple feedbacks to leave its not impossible to leave positive feedback by mistake. I've done it and I had to start a not received case. EBay found in my favour but the item eventually arrived so I gave the money back to the seller. The seller didn't have proof of postage so I could have kept the item and the money. A I'm not like that and B I intended to resell the items once restored and the seller could have appealled the decision. EBay and PayPal do have real people review the cases. It's not as automated as before. Least that's how it seems to me.

If he is saying he never received the item but you have proof of postage anf the item was insured it you who make the claim as it was you who paids the postage. Normally to insure during postage it would have been recorded delivery or specially delivery, in that case you will have a tracking number. Give that to ebay when they contact you. That should cover you especially if if shows the item was delivered and signed for.

Just make sure you check your paypal account regularly. I had someone do this over the Christmas holidays, and because I had not responded to their complaint within 7 days. Paypal ruled in their favour.

I just got proof of postage as the item was less than £20 so no point sendinf recorded or special delivery.

I've got a form from the PO to claim but they want a pile of evidence which isn't a problem, just time consuming.

Guess I'll just resent the items and claim :-/

I always do recorded, or next day/ 48hr signed for & tracked.

I give them a price up front in the listing, and explain why, simple as.

I also use the highest tier/ shipping costs to be on the safe side, (been out of pocket a few times lol)

I also add the proviso, that if the P&P is less, then i will refund the difference back to them.

(usually it only a coupe of quid, to go back, but you'd be surprised how many people say dont bother, )

No probs so far, and they cant wriggle then.

Mart
