I wore my well worn in running trainers bud, done up quite tightly (but not über tight!!). Saw a fair few people's trainers come off because of mud suction lol!!

Best of luck to you bud, you'll love it!! (If you can, have someone waiting for you at the end with a thermal blanket or at the very least something very warm!)

Ta mate. Ye I can imagine its a mud fest after a bit. I'm really looking forward to it as I'm quite confident with the fitness. Although it will definitely be hard work, perhaps a daft question but are there drink stations along the way or do you need to prepare to carry your own? Thinking of breaking in some new soft studded trail running shoes as I don't do too much running that type of ground

Done loads of these. Don't bother with drinks and don't bother with shoes you will be afraid of losing. Just make sure you have someone to hold your car keys for you

Oh, and take a full change of clothes!
