Default Another one dead and they say its ok

Another horse has had to be killed at Aintree after it fell during a race how many more before they do something to stop the slaughter

I imagine if a jockey died with each horse killed they would do something quick but its all about killing horses to make money ......its totally Shamefull

Was saying this the other day (i assume u mean the one who is paralysed after a fall) that if he was a horse he'd be in the frozen isle by now. It seem that its more humane to put a horse down when it gets injured , but you'd think with the money they make for the owners (that without horses they couldnt make) they could do something more than put them to sleep ?

So its not for humane reasons then , its because they see horses as disposable. I dont particularly care , just hate the "we love horses and have their best interests in mind" stance they have.

It's not fair ... the horse is cared for more than 90% of the worlds children, it's given everything it could ever want and all it has to do is run .. the thing it was basically born and loves to do ..

Accidents happen and unlike a human who would be left to suffer, the horse is put down.

Depends how you look at it really .. % of horses cared for throughout their lives then put to stud .. to the number that fall and get shot ..

Good odds for a horse I'd say.

Run, and jump

You wouldn't forced a child over a ten foot high fence?!

It leads a mollycoddled existence because of the possible rewards, just like football

I take it you don't eat meat then, as those animals are also "killed to make money"

Theres a difference in eating meat and killing a horse when its no use to you. Also i am sure horses love running and jumping , but when they feel like it . Not when you whip it on the *** and force it to do it . How many horses would actually do that if thet had a choice ?

Im not an animal rights activist , but i would prefer if people didnt sugar coat things.

Race horses are bred for racing that's all they know, if they break a leg they will almost certainly have to be put down because they cant put any weight on the leg and will probably suffer from laminitis which is far more distressing for the animal.

I am not a punter of horses but have mates who do and I often argue whether it is a sport or not as it only exists for gambling purposes.

No, but would you force a horse into sex slavery ?

The horse isn't being forced to do anything, it's being lead. Horses are very powerful animals, race horses are trained, not beaten, not starved, race horses have a great life.

We need to stop the slaughter lol

On a more serious note that is quite a high figure, obviously nobody has picked up on it yet. I can guarantee if there had been 217 deaths in a boxing ring people would be jumping through ******* hoops trying to ban it..

.......... might be deaths and serious spinal injuries, the hour is late.

Horse riding is one of the most dangerous sports, Daughter has taken a couple of tumbles in the last year which could have been serious. Body armour and helmet a must.

Playing hockey is the best way to lose an eye
