Near abort on Apollo 12
Just come across an interesting story I have never heard about before on how the Apollo 12 mission almost had to abort and destroy the Saturn V rocket. As it launched, suddenly telemetry data was lost, power to the command module was lost and was running on emergency battery backup. It was down to a 26 year old flight engineer to fix it from the ground or give the order to eject the crew and blow up the rocket. No pressure then....
