possibly yes as I didnt really think about doing it here until you mentioned but I have just started doing it on the civic forum
I have done four civic dash consoles at the moment and am about to start doing an exchange basis with them on the civic club.

they look alot lighter in the photos above just because the way the light is hitting them as they are quite dark when seen in person.

if people on here wanted something similar I could get some scoobie dash consoles and do it here as well if people were interested

hi ryan

yes there is a clear coat I done two dusting coats then three wet coats of clear

then gave them a rubb with 2000 grit wet and dry then rubbed in a rubbing compound and then done a light g3 carnuba then buffed it then a second and little bit thicker going over with carnuba wax.

because you are a professional painter ryan could you give me any tips on how to get the shine a bit shineyer

with the cash I get from selling the centre consoles I have
I will buy a impreza console along with some more materials and the things ryan recommended to get the best shine on the clear coat
then I will dipp the centre console and do an exchange basis with you tommy if that's cool
I wouldn't know a price until I seen the size of the centre console on the impreza
but with the civic centre console I am charging £60 on the type R forum
which includes paypal fees and delivery to the person who buys the console then the person swaps over the console and sends me back their old one.

so I would say around the end of the month mate

also if I start doing the exchange basis on impreza consoles in the for sale section I would need permission from the mod team before I would could start doing them regulary

which one do you have tommy ?

the first console would be around £60 - 65 to do

the second one would be more as a lot of work would need to go into that one and it around double the size if not bigger than the first one
it would need to be done in 3 - 4 dipps and it would be quite hard to get everything to line up with the pattern
edit - on second look it would maybe be possible to do in two dips but it still would not be easy

i have the second one, that is in 3 pieces the vents heater part and ashtray.

id think you would get the top one from ebay for peanuts but the second one may be more costly.

also id do the heater ring parts too so it all matches

unfortunately it would be longer than the end of the month for me to do the second one
the first dash would be no problem as I have everything to handle a dash on that size and shape

as I dont think it would be cheap to buy the newer one and I wouldn't do a console like that unless I owned it so if anything went wrong it was mine any way
and I would have plenty of time to get it perfect.
I would most likely have to dip on it then see how it comes out then sand it down to re dip again until I know the best way to dip it to get it perfect so I would be dipping it a number of times to figure out how to do something of that shape perfectly.

later on in the year I am planning on getting a big wooden 12 x 8 workshop in my back garden
and kitting it out with a proper big hydrodipping tank and things like a compressor and proper spray guns

around that time I would have the equipment to do a big console
it will be at some point this year I will get this stuff I dont know when tho
but if you want when I get sorted with the workshop and bigger tank
I will get a hold of one of them dashs and do it as I would most likely be able to do it in one big dip
then I would be up for doing a exchange on the second console

Does anyone know anywhere near Dudley in midlands that can do this to a late blob dash and air vent trims, I am considering having mine done rather than the matt s204 dash upgrade path
