Default Halfords, are they on crack?

Been looking at some kind of way to draw water from a bucket rather than through a water tap, So not wanting to butcher my garden hose I decided to buy a short bit of hose for the job. I have a look on Karchers site and find what I want at a reasonable price.

http://www.powerwasher.co.uk/acatalo...html#a44402380

However, Being the impatient **** I am I decide I'm not willing to wait for the above to be delivered and decide to check Halfords for the same part which they have, but the price difference between the Halfords and Karcher are a little bit on the taking the pi$$ side of things.

As far as I can tell those two hoses are identical, why the massive differences in prices?

Yea £9.98 from Karcher, £42.99 for exactly the same thing from Halfords.

I don't know why the second link isn't working though, It's driving me nuts I need to know!!!

These kind of places are terrible for this! I went into Comet (When it was open) to buy a cable for my TV, £49.99. Got home checked on ebay, bought it delivered for £5.99....and they wonder why highstreet shops are dropping like flys?

FYI, my other half works for Halfords and she said that certain products, including Karcher have the prices set by the manufacturer and Halfords have no control on those prices.

That's interesting, I wonder why Halfords would agree to something like this knowing it makes them look bad,

Yes price fixing is against the law.

However, to get round this if your supplier catches wind that you are selling below what they want - they suddenly go out of stock.

Don't get me started on Halfords.

I just bought a few bike bits from the local one, 3 for 2 at the moment, so bought a repair kit, bike pump and an adaptor.

Got to the till, all went through at full price, so questioned the guy and he says only 'certain' bike accessories, even though they were all on the offer display stand.

Bought them anyway as I needed to fix a puncture but questioned Halfords HQ and it seems they should have been on the offer and they apologised, with the offer of sending me a voucher for the difference, a bloody voucher. Told them I didn't pay by voucher so I expect cash!

Because some peopleare idiots and will pay it. Take my dad for example, still refuses to buy anything over the internet because he has to enter his card details. So on the basis that he might get robbed of the internet he would let Halfords rob him openly. Numerous times I've had to buy something for him over the net and let him pay me back.

Well being a grippy Scot I was gutted at the thought of being a tenner out of pocket so I went back for a second go at it, the result was different this time though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md4Y8...ature=youtu.be

This time I took the wee filter off the end of it, and spent a bit more time ******* around with it so it got decent suction.
