Question

Who else on here has been lured in to the Russ Andrews hi-fi accessory world?
What did you get? Did you think it was worth it? What would you recommend?

Interesting..........."Reveel" for cleaning CD's/ DVD's is OK wouldn't like to comment on ALL the claims though.

Also got one of those expensive 6-way block things with a Kimber Powercord......2 years later and I am still persuading myself that there is a difference .....Who knows.

Difficult for anyone to justify some of those interconnect prices though.
I consider myself as someone who WAS well and truly sad searching for better "soundstaging" and an "out of box experience". Frankly it's a bit like performance mods.......There is no end... until you realise that there is more to life than spending the whole evening adjusting loudspeaker placement with a spirit level whilst muttering that the wife doesn't understand you
Enjoy the music

The beat upgrade you can make is have a few drinks. Sit down and enjoy the music... Forget the HI-Fi!!!

R/A stuff is ok. Their "PBJ" cables are ok for the money. Remember to keep the signal direction. The CD cleaner stuff i have used. But using a gentle liquid soap and water will get rid of the "Release agent "that is left on the disc after it comes out from the machine. It does make a difference.

I always find good music sounds better than bad, my mate spent three grand on hi fi and listens to Phil Collins and Rod Stewart.

Expensive hi-fi is made for blokes with nothing better to spend their money on, spend a grand in Richer sounds and you get all the quality you could possibly need.

I exist on my single and loaded mates cast offs

nice Pair of Rega speakers arriving tommorow for £100 !

MarkJackon: rubbish, high-end hifi sounds better the low-end. Cost is irrelevant

Yes granted, the law of diminishing returns applies in its purest form when applied to hi-fi. 10 grand does not buy a system that is ten times better than a system that costs a grand.

If I won the lottery maybe I would go mad, but in the meantime Richer sounds stuff/cast offs will do me fine, besides the older you get the worse your hearing gets, mine has suffered from being in nightclubs, you know when your ears are still buzzing three days later, thats when your hearing is being damaged.

I once asked the owner of a very high end hi-fi company what was the best modification for say £1000? He replied "£1000 worth of music". Very true.

Sold my Sondek - with all retrofits up to date - about two years ago. Still miss it!

Only sold because I was fed up with trying to get albums on vinyl and with keeping record collection in two formats - not because it was inferior sound quality to CD - it was better

Didnt say better, beside, most of that stuff ends up in Richer Sounds when it comes to the end of its run. I listen to mainly MP3 on my pc, the hifi sits there unused, pc has a Technics amp and speakers and it sounds good, not fantastic but good enough to enjoy the musci, Rega EL8 speakers going on it today as well. What I am saying is that I appreciate good equpment but above a certain point it gets abit irrelvant, anyway Richer Sounds sell high end stuff ?
