Default The birds are singing, woo hoo!

The Blackbirds have started tonight, three are going bonkers outside my back door as it gets dark.

I've kept hearing snatches from Bluetits and Great **** ober the last week, and, of course, the Robin has been singing al year round, but it looks like the birdsong has begun again.

Looking forward to getting the shotgun out this summer as the crows were breeding like rabbits last year so I dread to think how many they'll be this year! We must have had flocks of 50-100 crows passing over our land pretty much every day.

Yes: it heralds lighter nights, warmer days, and somehow just makes me more cheerful.

A magpie at midnight? You sure?

Not an owl, then? A few of them screech, they don't many of them hoot.

Some birds sing all year round this end, they don't get SAD. However, more are singing now, I notice. My cats have been out loads in last two days, It has been warmer despite of unexpected snow spells lately. I also noticed the daffs have sprouted up in my garden.

I went for a walk for last two nights. The sparkling starshow up in the sky seemed so unreal, I couldn't believe my eyes! Things are changing again, I can feel it in my skeleton. Yaaaye!

We shouldn't too excited, to be real. It can become terribly dark and cold just like that <finger-thumb click>. Anyhoo, let's just enjoy this pleasant 'now' for now.

Screw the birds, todays the first in ages I was able to go outside and sit in the nice sunny weather having a cup of tea and reading without freezing or drenching the nads off ones self.

Studies have shown that the first birds to sing are ***** that were hatched the year before. The older birds do not start singing until well into March.

The song of the blackbird is arguably the most beautiful and best-loved of any British bird, as well as being the most familiar.

I had a male sparrowhawk in my back garden today eating away at what appeared to be the remains of an exploded Collared Dove.

It was terribly cold here in North Wales last night. My car was covered with frost this morning, and I think birds were having a day off by the time I woke up with banging, frost-hit headache. Absolutely wonderful.

On the brighter note, we had real good sunshine all day, and the evening is pleasant.
