Classic hang fire - quite rare but it does happen from time to time.
As with any mis fire the last thing you do is point the gun anywhere other than down range!!!

I guess it could be. Very strange thing for someone to do.
Hang fires are rare and you can shoot 100k rounds and not get one.
I have had a few misfires before but never a hang fire myself - in 20 years shooting.
