holidays, anyone else not realy enjoy them?
ive never been a holiday person, i dont like travelling, dont like being away from home, dont like the expense, the food, walking for miles ect ect.
even when younger, my mates 17-20 y/o my mates went to magiluf, Ibiza ect - id always stay at home and spend the money on new wheels, or twin 40's for my car.
i dont mean never go away ever, but a 3-4 day holiday every 3-4 years would be plenty for me. Really only for kids i go away now.
just doesnt have much appeal for me.
my sis getting married in Fiji next year - luckily cant affoard to pay for 4 people to go - im told its amazing, but ive seen it on discovery channel - job done imo!

My wifes idea of a holiday, is to prostrate herself on a sunlounger, and baste herself at +40c for as long as is humanly possible.
Mine would be to throw myself down a hill in -10C, or drive at silly speeds through rough terrain
Or if as usual i'm dragged into the top option, its a good pile of books under a sunshade, with barcadi on tap
Mart

Depends on company maybe, I let a friend come with us this year cos he's never been sub Sahara africa - what a big mistake, id have been happier with taking a three year old, at least wouldn't been kept awake on the plane elbowed in the ribs
Iv never experienced such whinging.
We go mainly cos other half family live there and apparently weve missed some smashing weather this last month thankfully lol

maybe, but ive been on holiday abroad enough times and to enough places to draw my conclusions.
i dont like excessive heat or sun - although im not a skin type to burn, i dont like lounging by a pool side, equally i dont like 5 miles of white water rafting, i dont like holiday providers meals - i do like local quality meals - but only for a few days, i dont like the expense, the travel, the inconvieniance - whats there to like? bar my kids experience.
ive been to bulgaria, vegas, new york, sydney, france, switzerland, germany, greece - all sh*t if more than 2-3 days
edit to add, i dont like other people much after 4-5 days max, time to go home

Skiing is my highlight. Absolutely love it.
Thankfully this is offset by a family home in France I get the use of 2 weeks a year.
Might get a week in Wales too.
I like my work, but time off is better.

but those pics look sh*t tbh mate - looks like millport in Scotland to me.
i would never in a million years go to NZ, ive seen almost all of it on discovery channel, and its not too, hot, sunny in my house, nor does it have deadly animals hiding in the corners. Im sure its lovely for you, but would be sh*t for me

I love my holidays
Normally phillipines and now Australia with the boy living there and the brother in laws live in Canada and America so we have a great selection of places to go and I like stopping with her relatives
I'm not a beach person and like to explore new things and cultures and meet people to talk too
Your only here once
Maybe the op needs to go on holiday himself ?

lol the last time I had a holiday abroad was the World Cup in France 1998! Once we got knocked out we hit Amsterdam for a week to rattle a few hookers before heading home, I spent 25 years working away from home for up to three weeks at a time so I like staying at home as much as possible.
Saying that I have been to a few Grand Prix don't know if they qualify as a holiday or not as there only a few days at a time.

Love my holidays and love traveling with work.
Always good to get home when traveling alone and always a drag when we're on a family holiday but work doesn't stop. One life Jef, live it.

I love travelling to see things and to feel cultures. Not into lazy ‘beach, booze and an easy-read in the suitcase’ type of a holiday abroad, no. I have done that sort, and they bore the hell out of me.
LOL did the plane go all shakey, did it? I went alone to Africa on my mission last time. I was all chilled until the plane hit Sahara Zone. That's where the mighty turbulance kicked in and the whole plane was like a yoyo in the air! My survival instict kicked in as well with it, and I started to chat with some Frenchman called Matthew, just to keep my mind busy. I don't remember but I perhaps elbowed that poor sod a few times during that bumpy spell.
Regarding your plight, nothing worse than having to tag a wrong human along to your holiday. Not fair on either party.
Nice pictures, SiPie.

Just back from our bi-annual month in NZ to see our family and I can confirm that Jef talks bollocks
