Default new AAA batteries dead ?

Ok , here goes.

I am selling a camera on Ebay and it needs new batteries so i bought a 4 pack to send as part of the deal.

They are the same as the ones that were in the camera that were showing low battery icon. I put 2 new ones in the box and kept the other 2 new for my head torch for work. It takes 3 , so i put one of the low battries in thinking it will even out with the 2 new ones . It didnt even glow up !So i checked the torch with alkiline batteries and its working fine .

I then just got 3 of the new ones together and they didnt work in the torch either. So i tried them in pairs in the camera and all 4 new ones in any combination show the low battery icon.

Any ideas ?

That 1.746V can drop when under load ........ doesn't really mean they're OK.

Buy some more - 20 for £1 in Poundland.

Nope , Kodak ! And they are sooooo light it feels like they are empty !

It seems that the icon on my camera isnt a low battery , it blinks when its low (why have a symbol of a broken battery if its fine ?)

So it would seem that maybe my head torch wont take lithium batteries , or maybe the voltage is too high ? Its an SMD type led torch.

Voltage is not the same as the ability to deliver current.
