Used to keep lake Malawi Cichlids & Cat fish in a 4 foot tank but got rid so I could put a turtle in the tank. That looks like a nice set up though & the plant helps to keep the water in good condition.

that pic is a cracking set up. looks very healthy. i kept tropicals for a while and then moved on to marines, with a 75 gallon live reef setup, but the cost of running the tank was tremendous. it looked amazing but like i said it cost a small fortune to run. got fed up of the water changes and mixing salt water, changing the media in the reactors, feeding corals, making fish foods for the picky ones! with that, a yemen chameleon, 2 dogue de bordeaux's and an american bulldog it all got a bit much so sold the lot and made a few bucks!

I have only one 5 ft tank now with a Tagifugu Ocellatus Puffer fish (orange saddle puffer) and gibbiceps pleco in it.

They live at opposite ends of the tank, and are quite indifferent towards each other!!!

Photos aren't the greatest;

I've got a 4ft tank with malawi's, couple of catfish (pims or something lol) and a couple of little bristle noses.

I'm fed up with mine after years of restocking it, the malawi's look great but they're so aggressive and the numbers just dwindle.

I'm actually giving my whole setup away now. I'm sure I'll miss it in some ways.

I've got a 170l Jewel tank with various fish - Clown loach, platys, mollys, sucking loach, danios and a plec off the top of my head.
I seem to be forever removing the green hair algae. I've reduced the amount of time the light is on during the day (9 hrs) but it still thriving

Malawis can be aggressive that`s why you have to `overstock` the tank and also keep the ratio of females to males at 3:1

Don`t just give it away, you can make money. My ex lives in Chatham...she might be interested in some fish

I have a 4 ft 260l Malawi tank and a 5 foot 460l tank housing a pair of Severums, 7 clown loaches, massive common plec, red tail shark and 7 albino bn plecs. Pics to follow

used to keep live coral and fish in a reef tank in the end costs got too much to carry on. didnt want to finish that hobby but was spending far too much on chemicals to rid the tank of troublesome algae and it was that that caused the demise of the system

might be worth investing in a ro unit for the algae

Might be worth getting the phosphate and nitrate levels checked as these are nutrients for algae. Plus bring the light down to six hours i think 9 is still too long.
Thanks kevo
