Thumbs down Learning to tie a bow tie

.....is ******* difficult

After one entire evening spent yesterday, I have finally accomplished this treacherous task. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears literally went into this, and now I wish I had bought one of those ready-tied bow ties instead. The videos on youtube explaining and demonstrating how to do it must all have an extra 100+ views each.

My shirt now needs to go back into the wash due to the lovely sweat patches under the arm pits now!

Lol. Remember the first time I tied one - on my knee, then I clipped it and mrs g clipped it back on for me.

Can tie them properly these days although I dont have much cause to at the moment. Had some made in mrs g's family tartan a while back to give to her dad and brother and one for me to keep. But different to black, red, blue etc ;-)

Couple of handy YouTube vids that help.

Clip ons are just utterly gay.

I thought you were a farmer, wouldn't your usual bailing cord suffice

IIRC, it's the same knot as you use to tie your shoe laces (unless you have slip-ons).

Once you have cracked it,you should remember how and the more you do it the smarter the result.

If you turned up at an RAF dining in night in a clip on bow tie it would cost you a round for everyone at the dinner!!!
