Food prices on some items are going up by about 20% in the last year, i noticed a kilo bag of mixed frozen veg was £1 6 months ago then went to £1.10 and a couple of weeks ago £1.20 so again 20% in a year.
The price of Chicken has risen more than that and many other items you have to buy each week have in creased by 10% or more in the last year.
I have noticed that Tesco is now more expensive on some items than sainsburys and tesco just keep putting up their prices

Food has increased by a significant percentage. On some items you don't notice as either it is a few pence here and there or there will be a 'half price' offer for a few weeks and then when the offer finishes the price has increased beyond the original.

0.5% base rates and hundreds of billions of "quantitative easing" destroying Sterling - who'd have thought prices would go up?
Luckily things like desktop computers and video players are cheaper, so the headline inflation figure is close to 2% when inflation on everything we actually need to buy regularly is much higher.
