Default Hampshire Dog Thefts / Green 4x4 Subaru Forester

Bit of a long shot but seems a gang working the area, including my mates dog being stolen from Sutton Scotney

The Subaru - green Forester seen in the areas may not have anything to do with the thefts BUT if you live in the area and have any info at all, please ring the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111

Cheers.

There's some scum around. I read about particular breeds being taken quite a lot. For both breeding and as bait. Sickening!

The sad thing with chips is that the vets don't check every dog.
If ŷour the owner and say yes it's chipped then they check.
Defeats the point unless the dog is found in the street by the warden etc

Is that from experience? One would hope that if you took a new dog into your Vet that they would check a) its chipped and b) the chip data matches up with your details. That said we are picking up 2 kittens on Saturday so I rang my regular vet to ask about registration and they said I can do it over the phone. But then we are talking2 rescue moggies rather than your average dog at £600 a pop.

I would imagine if they wanted to they could easily locate a chip and take it out to remove any ownership trace.

I have been speaking with a friend in the hampshire area tonight, and the said Forrester is directly linked (has two sets of plates, one false set and one ''legit''), a total of 11 spaniel types and one labrador have been stolen, all apparently working gun dogs.

Its getting a little out of hand now and the thief needs to be caught asap, as above anyne who has any information please contact the authorities.

Thanks

We have the same reported problems in Dorset with working dogs being stolen, been a fair few pups gone missing/stolen from gardens, may well be the same people as we're only down the road. I've been really weary of leaving my Lab in the garden even though its pretty secure.

Poor dogs are probably in a shocking state now, all so these criminals can make money through breeding. Hopefully they'll be caught ASAP!

Do you have any more info / verification on that? Im in Lincs and can soon get word out if a) its legit and b) the area can be narrowed down a bit - Lincs goes from Cambridgeshire to Yorkshire!!

We had some pikeys on our farm, trying to get "Tilly" another working spaniel into their van, they were trying to coax her in, but luckily she doesn't like stangers and her barking caused a guy in the unit behind me to investigate and they took off. we report everything (number plates... people selling obviously stolen tools etc) to the rural police and farmwatch, so the other farmers are aware whats been going on.

Its very sad this type of thing goes on.... i'd be devastated if some traveller type took her!!

here she is:-
