Furniture
Just spent the best part of the afternnon looking round furniture Emporium's
All have some form of sale, or discount, with the higher price being charged in stores etc.
Question is does anyone buy any at the higher price?
In which case why charge it???
Which then asks the question.... are you getting a £1000 item (original ticket price), or a £500 item , the new ticket price
And talk about up-sell, in one transaction, we had 3 shots at upselling
Still thats it done for another 5 years

A few years ago now but seen a three piece suite for sale at £999 but couldn't afford it,
Then a big sale announced 50% off so off we went with cash in hand,
get there and yes 50% off,
but the suite was £799 WTF.
asked the **** in a suit and he said yes 50% off the original price from Jan
(about 7 months previous)...

Laws on this need tightening up. I remember MFI used to play tricks like having one kitchen per store that was severely overpriced so that all the other stores could say it was on offer. 30 stores, 30 kitchens, each store with one different kitchen overpriced, yet if you really wanted 'that' kitchen they would 'do you a good deal'
We looked at a sofa one August in John Peters for £895. Decided to see how much it was in the sale and it was 50% off at £1395 They know no-one buys sofas in Feb/Mar so run silly prices for 6 weeks to comply with the law, then they can make up discounts for the rest of the year, including the Jan sales.
