do they really hold out water?? i guess they do absolutely nothing to help - correct me if im wrong ? surely your better of masticking the door up and climbing up a ladder and getting in the bedroom window

it seems the muddier the water, the quicker the sand clogs up and therefore stops further water ingress... well i never ! you live and learn...

i still have my doubts though, might have to set up a test environment at work

I could have said that they work. The weight of the sand being compact acts like a dam.

Some does seep in, but so long as it's fine sand, only a small amount.

Yes I think it will at least slow the water ingress down to an easier rate to control.

I feel so sorry for those with flooded houses. We are very lucky to be 498 feet above sea level on top of a hill.
