Can anyone recommend an alarm (wireless + DIY)
Hopefully completing on my new home early in the year, I'd like to fit an alarm for my own peace of mind.
Can anyone recommend a decent alarm that's fairly easy to fit and set up, but does the job?
It's quite a large 4 bed, with a few other parts to the house, so not sure on the spec required.
Cheers.
Oh.... No dog suggestions please.

My dads got a wireless Yale alarm it came with 2 bell boxes a main control box a keypad 2door sensors and 5 PIR sensors, it's a good loud alarm and believe it or not but phones my dads phone when it goes off an he can listen to what's going on in the house from the main controll box, not sure on the price but it's completely wireless apart from the control box

I can recommend the Yale as well. We got this one from Screwfix (on offer at £160).

Very easy to install, great reviews and range seems to be good (we live in a 1750 build old property). We also bought the remote keyfobs too.
I also got a couple of these:
Very impressed as if/when the alarm phones me to say it's gone off then I can either check my gmail account to see if the cameras have emailed me photos/video clips of any internal activity or I can use my phone or web browser to see a live feed. That way I can either stop the alarm myself (remotely) or phone the police. I also have one of the cameras plugged into a small speaker so I can even 'talk' to whoever is in the house, i.e. 'get the F*ck out, police informed and pictures already taken' sort of thing).
