I just used Paisley Freight after they were recommended to me on here. They specialise in automotive parts, easy to book and all done properly with no drama!

Use parsley freight and make sure seller packs and packs it over and over, a bonnet is a tricky item to avoid damage, or maybe post an add on freight alerts for back load.

Or if you got it cheap enough to cover fuel costs, pick it up yourself

How much would you expect to pay ?

Best thing would be to post on frieght alerts and wait for a quote as couriers that are going that way can give you quotes as a back load as they are going there anyway, or have a look on parsley frieght website and look around for rough prices on item. I would say no more than £35 on next day.

Also bonnets are at owners risk on parsley website.

Just put details in paisley freight
Weight 6kg
Width 100mm
Hight 2 metres
Length 2 metres
And the quote was £13 for next day delivery
This seems a bit cheap to me , have I done somthing wrong ?

Yep details seem correct, they are quite cheap tbh, a set of 17" wheels with tyres only cost me £36 so they are good and use TNT but would advise it well packaged and fragile stickers put on as some drivers are too clumsy with items

They have fixed prices for certain items and if not listed then you use calculator, I would go with the £25 as its still a good price and if it's listed as bonnet it might get better care if drivers know what it is.

Yeah was thinking that , under the calculator it could be anything
But suppose if you book under bonnet they are more aware
They must have transported loads of bonnets so I'd imagine it would be ok and with it being carbon it's not gonna get dented ( snapped in half maybe lol)

Because your bonnet is carbon (light weight) the weight affects the amount charged. stick with the cheap quote as it will be fully insured anyway mate

Bonnets can't be fully insured - see the asterisk on the site

You are right about the weight though!

Just make sure it is really well packaged!

Book the cheaper one as addi is right about the weight. The worst they can do is charge you the extra

To be honest mate I have no experience of carbon bonnets, but someone here will know, stick a post in general asking for the weight!

Just did a quick search - 5 - 6 kg for a carbon bonnet

I might do although I've just looked on paisleys site and at the top it states the items below cannot be booked using the booking calculator so I might as well stick with the fixed £25 and the same as busta said , they will probably be more aware it's a bonnet
It's only £12 above the calculator price so I can't grumble
Certainly beats a 400mile round trip & 7hr drive
Thanks for the advice chaps

Also used Paisley Freight several times for exhaust, wheels, suspension etc. Very good service and for the sake of cheap skating £12 or whatever, go with the general quote. Or even give them a call and explain the lighter bonnet?

Yeah I'm gonna go with the £25 for a bonnet price , then in the event of somthing going pear shaped , even though it's not insured I can at least say you were aware it was a bonnet
But hopefully it should be all good

It wants to be in a packing case. Carriers always ruin bonnets and they never, ever pay.

It's not mint by any stretch of the imagination ,
And with it being carbon it won't get dented
I only payed £20 so I'm not really worried
I'm not entirely sure I can salvage it

I think that the OP needs to collect it in person.

I'd be VERY surprised if it gets to you in one piece. I delivered a brand new CF bonnet a while back, all in the original packaging. The box rattled more than a bairns rattle. The person I delivered it to is a member on here.

Paisley Freight don't actually do the shipping themselves, they use all the mainstream couriers.
