I do a tremendous amount of business (and holiday) flying.
I have tried Bose Quiet Comfort over ear but they were quite bulky to take (as I usually just have carry on luggage).
Currently have middle of the road Sony "in ear" phones.
Can you please recommend a really good set of "in ear" phones please. Cost is not an issue as I feel that this will be justifiable.

Have a look at the range of in ear phones from Shure. Pricey but good. The really high end ones are designed as live monitors but very good still.

Failing that have a look at What magazine online and search there. They usually have pretty accurate reviews...

Could look at ACS or Puretone, but they are high end (professional). - will involve having your ears injection molded.......

Seems a bit pointless spending a lot on earphones to listen to MP3's which have been compressed to death.

Choice is yours though - Sure SE535 is about the best out there, the cable on these can be replaced should it become damaged. Ultimate Ears UE3 are good gear also, but needs a mould cast of your ear by an audiologist. You wont see much change out of £500 for either.

I have a set of Bose IE2 earphones, which I bought for comfort - have worn these for 22 hours and my ears didn't feel uncomfortable after I removed them. Think I paid around £80 for them.

I've just bought the blu tooth version at 280 the noise cancelling ones are 380, I just fancied no wires, but it does come with a wire should I need to use one.

Failing that I also have the sony mdr ex1000s they are awesome for IEMs small ones, but if your on the plane train etc, I can't recommend the sony enough , comfiest I've ever had on my head, my old ones are shure 840s

I have many sets, Sennheiser ie60s ultimate ears etc.

And I know a big commercial name, but the sonys have beaten everything I've used prior. Worst headphones I've ever had we're the etymiotic 4p total crap

If u want total silence get the noise cancellers, if u want freedom of wires for 30 hours with reference sound get the bts like me

The guys are right though you could get ear moulds, but you can also get them for any headphone, a company in the uk send the kit or you can find the specsavers ear place and they do it, then have the ear buds made
