“This data is gonna be one for the history books,” he said. “It’s looking really good.”

Let's not count our chickens before they come home to roost! It could just be that they have found some slightly weird shade of green on the rocks.
Though if/when we discover alien life, no matter how primitive, how I wonder will this impact religion and christianity as we know it?

Apparently, a life-form has crawled into the lander and is operating the switches and relays ......... there is a self portrait photo of this alien.

Hmm, how did that life get there, cant be that evolution stuff, Adam and Eve will have to have taken a day trip to Mars, or will thay have a different god and all that, The Muslims will have to decide whether they have a representative on Mars, all the tales are earth based is what I am saying.
Thing is, religion really was all sorted out 2000 odd years ago, all written down, done and dusted, anything earth shattering they will struggle to incorporate.

It will be chemical results.
It will probably say there is either a) possible trace of previous carbon based life or more probably b) there are the right conditions at one point in the past for that life to form or exist.
IMHO, these "history changing" NASA press releases are often quite small - and just a bit of PR.
Or I could be wrong and they found a "mars attacks" type scenario...

Well they are focusing mainly on the crater
& we all know what made the crater didn't come from mars
The Sam is looking for molecule 's
So chances are they have found something
It could be as deep to say the Sam has pinned the sample down & that it derived from a planet in our solar system & has just unlocked an earth shattering secret ?
