I never understand why we think we can bring "democracy" to these sh1thole places.......

America's is second to none. I wouldn't care, but a country that shouts the loudest really has nowt to shout about: it's politics is all about money and there are ghettoes in every large city.
Let's see how loud the USA is shouting when all these democratically elected governments go hardline Muslim......

Anyone who thinks we live in a 'democracy' is being very naive... we live in nothing but an elected dictatorship, the government (of any political persuasion) only exists to serve the interests of the banks and the corporations.

Well you just keep on living in your blissfull ignorance, having faith in the left-right paradigm, allowing the government to take away more and more of your civil liberties in order to protect you from the big, bad scarey terrorists, gratefully accepting the scraps and crumbs that are occasionally thrown the way of the ordinary man, whilst the banks and corporations keep on making their record breaking multi-billion pound profits and the wealth divide is greater than at any other time in history.

As for the two (and a half LOL) party setup and first past the post system.......That in 2005, allowed Blair a 66 seat majority in parliament with 35.2% of the popular vote!
You can try to convince yourself that we live in a democracy if you like.
If you want, you can try to convince others - but please don't be too surprised when they laugh at you.
