I had the Dad's Army board game.

Loved playing it. The board's artwork was groovy.

He was also held in an Austrian prisoner of war camp. Sad news but he had a good spell on the drill square dieing at 92.

Really sorry to hear of his death. He was such a good actor and a natural comedian. I still like to see Dad's Army when it is shown on Sky, as well as "Last of the Summer Wine" British humour at its best.

I am trying to remember who used to pronounce "Mainwaring" as it is spelt in the TV programme.

There were a few who pronounced it Mainwaring, the welsh journalist bloke, the commander of the Eastgate platoon and a Colonel. From memory anyway. I have the complete box set at home
