Tablet for Xmas present, any ideas?
My 8yr old is looking for an iPad, I've told her Santa doesn't have I pads as only apple are allowed to make them he has different ones that he makes
So I was recomended to look at the allwinner 7", have you guys any recommendations or suggestions, 50-70 quid is all I'm wanting to spend on this, as its part of a long list
It's only for angry birds, maybe a bit of music, or if possible movie.

To be honest when you watch a child open a present and it's not the one he / she wants ie an iPad as that's what she as asked Santa for the dissapointment on her face will show
Get her an iPad
Anything else is defenty second best
Even if you get one on 10 months interest free if your over your Xmas budget
On fact you will be fighting for who uses it as they are that good
iPad mini is worth considering
Nice bit of kit and smaller and lighter for a child to hold too

Na I'm not buying her an iPad mate, she doesn't even know what it is, only she has heard the name in school, once it has angry birds, that's about all she wants it for. Plus I've 2 more to buy for aswell.

Google Nexus 7, it's without doubt the best value tablet on the market and it's no slouch either.
I've no doubt that some will say get an iPad, another purchase worth considering is the Playbook 64gb as they can be picked up for less than £100 new from some sellers. OK, it's getting on a bit now but for VFM it can't be beaten if you don't want the latest tech.

Its just something to get her started off really, nothing serious, as she still is a bit careless witrh things so a 400 quid tablet will get treated the same as a 60 quid one.. and as i said For the moment, as long as it has Angry birds and few simple bits it will be exactly what she wants

Ainol novo 7 aurora II or novo 7 flame/fire. Great little tablets with a fantastic growing support. Dracotek, the guys I bought my daughters Aurora from have superb customer service. They replaced a broken tablet FOC even though I had sent it to be repaired non warranty (she dropped it and broke the outer screen). You cant beat that and given that the flame is better specced over the nexus as well as 50 quid plus cheaper. No brainer.

Hotukdeals is the place to go
Samsung 7" for £119 after cashback
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sams...rphone-1355621
This one for £76 from Amazon
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/leli...amazon-1349504
This is another from an Amazon seller - this deal has expired but I've seen this sellers name crop up fairly regularly with good priced tablets

A lot of the cheaper tablets are very similar, the difference with some of the ainol models is the use of the LG IPS screen which is right up there with retina displays as it is pin sharp and no reduction in quality from different angles compared to regular screens.
is the boy (better spec than the new google nexus due out). They come from china so no idea why anyone would order them from america...
Customer service has been fantastic especially when I wasnt expecting any sympathy whatsoever.

Nexus 7 here... infact i was so impressed i bought another on monday....
Youngest wanted one, so we thought we'd get an 8Gb... seen around for £99 no chance all sold out...
Next one was the £16Gb at 169 or the 32Gb at £199
So we had a brainwave, he's having the 16Gb, now wiped and reboxed, only taken out of the box and installed lol now wiped and ive got the 32Gb
Mame and all the other emulators will soon be installed.

Nexus 7 - without a shadow of a doubt, it kicks the iPad Mini into the long grassy stuff.
If you can find a discontinued 8Gb model it will be around £99 as they have stopped selling them now ....... a better bargain you will never find.
