£86/m for both with Scottish Power for a 3-bed end terrace. Price fixed until July next year, and currently £450 in credit, so hopefully another reduction in monthly payments is due.

About £155 a month ..... and I'm tight regarding the heating and lights!!

Just opened an EDF letter saying sorry about the massive hike in bills - they say they are not as bad as the others!!

It's a fecking cartel .... we all know it - the toffie Tories should do something about it, but then it is their mates who are running these companies!

My last bill was £210 when the usual cost for a summer bill was about £180.

My standing charge has increased from just over 14p a day to over 18p daily! How can they justify that I wonder.

£210 a month, four bed 30s detached, five people, four of which do not pay or care about the bill, so god knows what the bill will go to, another ten point eight percent, so probably £230.

£100 a quarter for electric from SSE, don't have gas at the cottage. Heating and hot water is oil fired, and £600 gets me a years supply of fuel thanks to an efficient boiler thats only 3 years old.

Live on my own, heating is on 24/7 throughout the winter. Property is a 2 bed Semi Detached cottage built in the 1800's. Nice thick walls to keep the heat in.

Yes but they are cheap to run and that is what is most important

Funny how 5 years ago it was all 'what is your house worth' and now it is 'what do your utlities cost you'

can't remember but my twelve month deal has just expired so I've just used the moneysupermarket.com switch tool; very good and saved me over £140 a year. HTH.

If I can delve out my usage statement for the past year or two I think I'm going to try the compare utility sites. Luckily however with SE I pay no more for being stuck on pre payment meters (apparently I can't have Direct Debit due to my stuffed credit rating when unemployed 4 years ago). Hmm, I wonder if other providers would be so welcoming
