Acquired using 18 fake invoices so the reports say.

Surely this is fraud and comes with a sentence at her maj's pleasure rather than a one year ban from the commons and it's subsidised bar ?

As I have alreasy said, we have lost all faith in politicians after the first expenses scam and it seems that there are still MP's who are prepared to steal our cash via their expense accounts.

I find it disppointing and I hope they find all the thieving A'holes and lgally hit them between the eyes!

If any one of us did that in our respective jobs we would be sacked on the spot and prosecuted for fraud. I certainly hope he is prosecuted.

This one is priceless.

Denis MacShane was one of the most self-righteous sanctimonious 'for the workers' Labour MPs you could find.

Total hypocrite it seems.
Perhaps Lewis might like to tell us how this compares to Osbourne's train ride.
It must hurt.

This is a disgrace from a Labour MP .... we expect it from a Tory ... but not from a working man!!

He should be charged with fraud and take the consequenses ..... but, Mr MacShane has apologised and repaid the entire £12,900.

Has he said sorry and re-paid this amount to stop them looking further? i think maybe, yes!

Bad day for Labour .... but, worse for that Toffy Nosed Clown Cameron - who got shafted in the commons yesterday .......

Tories are now joining the Labour Party to defeat the Government ..... nice

Let's end this shambles and get MEN in to do the job!!

Look at what Blair is doing for a living, that tell's you everything you need to know about these deceitful *****.

I also remember Brown telling the world he and his wife would work for a charity once he lost office, did it happen, I dont know but I very much doubt it, he's probably on about 4 boards doing 20 days work a years making a fortune

If private companies are paying for their services, what's wrong with that?

It's if the people are being paid for out of Taxes that we have every right to judge - not otherwise.

It depends what type of companies they are Pete, especially Tony's, all got a leg up in Iraq, from Tony's govt, probably all part of the deal a nice cushy number on the board as and when required Tone

Hmmmm, not so sure about that.

What I am sure of is that when Blair and Brown led the country we had the best of times ........ now, sadly, we have the Eton Clowns - kids, not men.

As we have proved on numerous occasions these people have been educated beyond their intelligence & you wouldn't trust them to be in charge of a light switch .

So how come.............................................. ....

they all walk away minted?

Your comments about MacShane are all quite right of course and I hope he gets heavily hammered for his shenanigans. He has shown he is not fit to be an MP and should be shown the door immediately.

This is exactly what should have happened to all the MP's who were caught fiddling their expenses during the big expenses scandal as well. People like that should never have a part in running the country. I am disgusted at all the cover ups which were of prime importance at the time as far as all parties were concerned.

You are "dyed in the wool Labour" of course Pete and you allow that to colour your opinions. You know by now that I am apolitical, and not very impressed with MP's in general anyway.

You praise Billy Liar and his sidekick in a later post. but you conveniently forget that as I was telling you at the time, they were overborrowing as hard as thay could go and using that cash to make the economy look artificially strong, which it wasn't of course as we now know, and Billy liar was using that incorrect impression to effectively buy votes in order to continue his election successes. You tell us Pete...was that an effective and honest way to run the country?

In the meantime we are at present stuck with a bunch who are content to let the country tick over using every way to struggle on such as further heavy borrowing and printing money as well and doing nothing effective to improve the basic faults in our economy. The leader has even put Billy Liar on a pedestal because of his election successes which does the country no good at all!

I think Pete that you should tell us what all the good was that NL actually did for this country in real terms and why we have got a mindbending National Debt after they took over the country with a strong economy which was bequeathed to them by the previous Conservative government.

You are of course fully entitled to also tell us your opinions of a man who achieves government by promising a referendum on the Eu and also an effective British bill of rights, neither of which having shown any signs of an appearance.

Looking forward to your reply!
