Banks are bent, end of
Sorry if you work in a bank, its not meant as a personal insult, but banks are bent, totally and utterly.

so fixing electric bills now.
The more that comes out in the wash the more it seems to be that banks should be completely revamped and regulated so heavily they can;t even buy paperclips for the office with out the regulators saying ok.
They have proved beyond doubt they can;t be trusted so they have no one to blame but themselves.

I have a theory that working all day with money is a corrupting influence. After a while at it, I reckon it becomes 2nd nature to do people down.
Ther was a time when you felt that you could trust them with your life though.

Would you care to explain how the alleged manipulation in a Californian commodity market for electricity pushed up the bills for electricity. I assume you have evidence to substantiate this claim?

Here we go again. A free market but it's the bankers' fault that prices went up. Because whenever bankers get involved, prices just keep going up and up, forever. Right?
Tidgy come on even you can't be this thick surely.

By that response, you don't actually know or have any idea as to whether trading in commodities in a Californian electricity market has any affect on price of electricity in the UK domestic market do you. This is just another populist opportunity to bashing bankers. Just for your information though, the alleged manipulation was made for a loss in order to make a profit on their position on their swaps.

fine
so to summerize, if found guilty (as they were in the LIBOR) they rigged markets and someone lost out - but we just don't know who
they are also being investigated for fraud and corruption too
but apart from that!!!

lol, i never said our bills would be affected, just banks up to no good again
But, think of it this way, if there doing it there, what are they doing elsewhere?
yes we don't know about the legality of it, but if questions are being raised by authorities, who know a darn sight more than the scoobynet massive, then there must be some underhand tactics going on don't you think?

Do you honestly think think that "underhand tactics" are only unique to the finance industry? It happens in all industries regulated or not. I'm not saying it's right, but if you feel that aggrieved with the whole banking sector then vote with your feet. Take your money and have some other service look after your money or if you want the industry so heavily regulated, then I expect you won't complain when you no longer get free banking, free overdrafts, low interest rate loans and mortgages, free credit card transactions, poor returns on your savings, investments, pension etc.
Just seems to be more and more dodgy behaviour coming from banks
