The irony isnt lost, you put up the link with nothing further. Thought it might be another thread typical of the type you find here with the usual ignorant suspects repeating the same bs they do on every thread.
Sorry about the misunderstanding.

My 4 yr old son came back from school Friday with a card he'd coloured in. On the front was a symbol with 'Happy Eid' Printed on there.
Thought that was very strange. Never heard of it myself.
Is this the norm? Do schools these days just try and be PC and cover every single religous base?

Did you ever go school? If so how long ago? Did you have RE lessons or maybe a hym book?

I put no religious belief on his form so would like to think they weren't brain washing him with Christianity, Scientology or any other story.
I don't care what people get up to in their own homes if they want to believe what their parents told them its up to them. I don't think school is a place for religion, leave it to the parents, leave school for learning! Why confuse kids with all different stuff like this at 4 years old. I'm sure anyone can agree with that, religious or otherwise. Why don't they just leave it all away from school?
And, yes I did go to school and managed to resist the wonder of RE.. despite the best efforts of our kiddie fiddler RE teacher
Have fun!

The greeting is no more controversial that 'Happy Christmas'. There are many current and ex military personnel who have served in Muslim countries who will be very familiar with it and who will have joined in the celebrations regardless of their personal religious inclinations

Is that Dosa restaurant still going at Euston? That's on the same road as Ambala, methinks. The last Dosa I had was at Spice Route, Cardiff. I could kill myself right now for a Dosa, man.

I nearly went to Ambala for Rasmalai when I was in London, but due to the time shortage, I had to do with another mithai shop in Bethnal Green. I bought loads of good mithais there. I also got myself and my London colleague a Jalebi each to munch on, but that was not very impressive. Ambala next time.

I've never heard of Dosa, sounds like a Indian restaurant. I only do Pakistani/Punjabi cuisine. Give Ravi's Tandoori a try, Est in 1973. First class mate . Not Far from Ambala (on the same road)

You have to try Ambala! Its just a totally different experience. Make sure you try the green Burfi & light brown Gulaab jaman. The Ambala Mithai is just soo addictive.

I have had sweets from Ambala many times, KAS. They are good, I know. Yes, Dosa is a South-Indian mouthwatering dish. I do all sorts of cuisines, me; provided they are tasteful. Pakistani, Punjabi, Indian, English, Scottish, Irish, Thai, Chinese, Caribbean, Jewish, Japanese, American etc.- the lot! I Will certainly try Ravi Tandoori next time I am there.
Still waiting to try the the Irish stew or hot pot

But is it like Christmas, really? Let's compare:
Christmas: celebration of birth of the son of God*
Eid: celebrating murdering your first born son because God apparently wanted you to do it
So not really the same thing, no.
* I'm an agnostic btw
